The Optical Communication Research Group focuses on advancing communication technologies by integrating the strengths of both optical and wireless systems. The group's research spans diverse areas, including fiber-optic communications, Visible Light Communication (VLC), 5G and beyond, and the development of hybrid systems that leverage both optical and radio frequency (RF) technologies. With an emphasis on increasing data transmission rates, enhancing bandwidth, and improving energy efficiency, the group explores novel architectures like Massive MIMO, optical wireless networks, and Free-Space Optical (FSO) systems. By addressing challenges in urban, rural, and underwater communication, this research aims to push the boundaries of high-capacity, low-latency networks and provide innovative solutions for next-generation communication infrastructure.
